Play chamber music together

Musicians on Rhapsodate post read-through sessions: a Brahms trio on a Sunday afternoon, Haydn quartets after work, a wind quintet that needs a horn. Ask to join one that needs your instrument, or post your own. Amateurs, students and professionals all play here.

A pianist for your sonata, a cellist for your trio, the fourth for a quartet: post what you’re looking for, or answer someone in Boston. Replies are private conversations on Rhapsodate. It works now, with a free music profile.

Three players, one empty chair

The fourth for your quartet, the pianist for your trio, an accompanist for your recital. Tell us what you play and the pieces you want to play.

How it works

A musician posts a session: what to play, when, the area, the level, and which instruments are needed.

Other musicians ask to join. The host chooses who comes.

Sessions happen in practice rooms and public places. Meet someone new there rather than at a stranger’s home. Only verified musicians can host at home, and only the players they accept see the address.

Inside a session you see first names and instruments. No photos: it’s about the music.

Some players charge (an accompanist for an audition, say) and some will pay. Rhapsodate doesn’t take payments: players agree the fee between themselves.
